Then experience authentic Chagga culture with a traditional coffee-making tour - from picking the beans to roasting and brewing your own cup. This tour includes a delicious local lunch and stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

8:00 AM: Hotel pickup in Arusha or Moshi and scenic drive through the Kilimanjaro foothills (approx. 1.5 hrs), passing banana plantations and village life. 9:30 AM: Arrive at Materuni village, greeted by your Chagga host family. 10:00 AM: Hands-on coffee tour - pick the ripe cherries, peel them with a mortar, roast the beans over an open fire and brew your own cup while learning traditional Chagga songs. 12:30 PM: Home-cooked lunch of banana stew, chapati and grilled chicken served under a banana-leaf roof. 2:00 PM: Guided hike (45 min) through rainforest to the base of the 80-meter Materuni Waterfall - cool off in the plunge pool beneath the cascade. 3:30 PM: Return walk via a different trail, photo stops at Kilimanjaro viewpoints (weather permitting). 4:00 PM: Depart for Arusha. Return to your hotel by approximately 5:30 PM.
